Amber Georgia is an international traveling wine fair created to connect Georgia’s leading winemakers with global audiences, trade professionals, restaurants, media, and wine lovers. Launched in New York City, Amber Georgia is designed to travel to major cultural cities around the world, creating new platforms for Georgian wine, food, music, and cultural storytelling.

A defining feature of Amber Georgia is its direct connection to the winemakers themselves. The fair brings Georgian natural winemakers to the table in person, allowing guests and trade professionals to meet the people behind the wines, hear their stories, understand their methods, and experience Georgian wine through the hands and voices of those who craft it.

By bringing Georgian natural winemakers directly to international audiences, Amber Georgia promotes Georgian wine not only as a product, but as a powerful expression of history, identity, and place.

Dedicated to celebrating Georgia’s ancient winemaking heritage, natural wine movement, and the deep cultural identity of Sakartvelo — the Republic of Georgia — Amber Georgia brings together winemakers, artisans, food, music, and storytelling in one immersive cultural experience.

At the heart of the fair is amber wine: Georgia’s iconic style of wine made by fermenting white grapes with their skins in traditional qvevri — clay vessels buried underground — using methods passed down for more than 8,000 years.

This ancient Georgian technique has inspired many European winemakers, especially over the past decade, as amber wine — often referred to internationally as “orange wine” — has become increasingly popular across Europe and beyond. Amber Georgia honors Georgia as the source of this tradition and uses the name amber wine to reflect its true cultural and historical origin.

Amber Georgia is more than a wine event. It is a celebration of craftsmanship, hospitality, and living tradition. Through the voices of Georgian natural winemakers, guests are invited to discover distinctive wines, indigenous grape varieties, regional diversity, and the cultural rituals that have shaped Georgian winemaking for generations.

Amber Georgia is spearheaded by Zura Mgvdliashvili and Iago Bitarishvili, leading figures of Georgia’s natural wine movement and members of the Natural Wine Association of Georgia. The project is supported by the National Wine Agency of Georgia, whose contribution helps promote Georgia’s unique winemaking heritage, indigenous grape varieties, and historic role as the birthplace of wine on the international stage.
